Research theme
Our primary interest is to understand molecular mechanism and physiological role of apoptosis. We found cell surface death receptor Fas, and our main purpose is to understand intracellular signals via Fas and physiological role of Fas. In conjunction with these studies, we have been trying to identify other apoptosis-related molecules which play a key role in immune system, embryogenesis or tumorigenesis.
