In order to understand the molecular mechanism of neural
differentiation and regeneration, this laboratory is characterizing
transcription factors that regulate the important processes of neural
development: proliferation and maintenance of neural stem cells and their
differentiation to neurons and glial cells. We have identified more than ten
helix-loop-helix transcription factors that regulate these processes of
neural development.
